Bridget Yee

'Her command of the keyboard was at times breathtaking in its audacity.' - Christopher Axworthy

‘An expressive personality who stands up for her art with self-confi dence and conviction.’ - Zuger Zeitung

Described by the Lucerne Festival as “a pianist who does not fit into any mold,” Malaysian pianist Bridget Yee is recognised for performances of imagination, intensity and emotional depth. Her programming brings fresh perspective to core repertoire, placing great works alongside contemporary voices with a distinctive sense of narrative and curiosity.

Upcoming highlights include her solo recital debuts at the Lucerne Festival in Switzerland and at the Wigmore Hall in London. This season, she made her German and French solo debuts, followed by a widely praised recital tour across Switzerland, her concerto debut with the National Symphony Orchestra of Malaysia at the Petronas Philharmonic Hall, and an appearance at the Aspen Music Festival in the United States. Her performances have been broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and France Inter, and recent appearances have included performances at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show with Steinway & Sons, filmed by the BBC.

A winner of both the Beecham International Piano Competition and the Windsor International Piano Competition, she was also a BBC Young Musician piano finalist. She has appeared at Yokohama Minato Mirai Hall, Viborg Musikforening, Ägerihalle and Harris Hall.

Equally committed to contemporary music, she is currently in a three-year artist residency with the Riot Ensemble, during which she gave the world premiere of Alexander Papp’s duo concerto.

For 2026/27, Bridget is the recipient of the Rupert Heggs Award, the Hattori Foundation Senior Award and the Derek Butler Munster Trust Award. She is an artist of The Keyboard Trust and the Countess of Munster Trust Recital Scheme, and is supported by the Drake Calleja Trust. In 2023, she was honoured at the Sarawak International Festival of Music and Arts as a ‘Successful Sarawakian from Overseas.’ Recent recognitions include the Sterndale Bennett Prize from the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal Over-Seas League’s Kerr Memorial Prize.

Bridget is currently completing her undergraduate studies with Christopher Elton at the Royal Academy of Music, where she holds the Suresh and Richard McMillan Full Scholarship. Her mentors include Michel Béroff and Ng Chong Lim.
