A special programme of music from Latin America played by Venezuelan pianist Clara Rodriguez who has been hailed by the BBC as “The Queen of Latin American Piano Repertoire”

Rarely heard musical gems will make this an uplifting summer evening with colourful pieces from Venezuela, Mexico, Brazil, Cuba and Argentina. Lyricism, virtuosity, varied syncopated rhythms from composers such as Carlos Jobim, Simón Díaz, Moisés Moleiro, Prisca Dávila, Luisa Elena Paesano, and the premiére of Clara’s own composition to accompany the tasting notes of a unique, Venezuelan beverage, composed in tandem with Leonardo and Jean-Luc Muller to the Sonic Seasoning findings of expert, Oxford University Professor Charles Spence, “The Chancellor’s Treasured Notes”

This programme offers a vibrant journey through Latin American musical landscapes and dances such as Joropos, Waltzes, Bossa-Nova, Tango Nuevo, Onda Nueva, Merengues, Gaitas, an experience not to be missed!

Internationally acclaimed pianist Clara Rodríguez, renowned for her expertise in Latin American piano music, appears at the 1901 Arts Club, London, Waterloo,  with a recital devoted entirely to works from Latin America. Celebrated as a leading champion of this rich and diverse repertoire, Rodríguez brings  a programme that highlights the rhythmic vitality, lyrical depth, and cultural variety of composers from across the continent.

A graduate of the Royal College of Music, London, Clara Rodríguez has performed extensively throughout Europe and the Americas, earning praise for her expressive interpretations and commitment to lesser-known repertoire. She has premiered numerous works written for her by contemporary Latin American composers and is widely regarded as an authoritative voice in this field.

This special recital offers audiences a rare opportunity to experience an evening of piano music that reflects the distinctive musical heritage of Latin America, presented by one of its most passionate and accomplished advocates.
