Siqian Li
Featured as a rising star in BBC Music Magazine, Chinese pianist Siqian Li brings elegance, dynamism and exceptional musical quality to her performances. Commended for her ‘virtuosity and talent’ (Annecy Classic Festival), her ‘huge emotional range and effortless pianistic control’ (Paul Lewis CBE), and her ‘graceful and touching’ (Emanuel Ax) approach, Siqian has appeared in concerts and recitals around the world.

She has performed at international concert halls including the Bridgewater Hall, Beijing Forbidden City Concert Hall, Tokyo Ginza Yamaha Concert Hall, Cairo’s Arabic Music Institute and Boston’s Jordan Hall, and in more unusual settings, with recitals at London’s 1901 Arts Club, the ever-charming Fidelio Cafe and Luke Jerram’s breathtaking GAIA The Earth Exhibition.

Consistently active on the festival circuit, Siqian has also given recitals at Annecy Classic Festival, Festival d’Auvers sur-Oise, Dinard Festival International de Musique, Lancaster Music Festival, Shanghai International Music Festival, and BNP Paribas Rising Star Piano Festival.

The level of depth Siqian brings to her musical exploration, coupled with her shining pianism, has led to her winning numerous awards, including first prizes in the Chappell Medal Piano Competition 2020, the Imola International Piano Competition, Yamaha China Piano Competition Conservatoire, and the Grand Prix at the Krainev International Piano Competition, amongst others.  Siqian was also a semi-finalist in the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2018.

In 2022, Siqian performed live on BBC Radio 3 - In Tune and appeared on BBC Radio London - The Scene.

Studied Music at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing with professor Huiqiao Bao, Siqian became the first pianist to be awarded the “Best of the Best - Top and Innovative Talent” diploma and scholarship from China’s Ministry of Culture.  She then obtained a Master of Music Degree and a Graduate Diploma at the New England Conservatory in Boston in the class of professor Alexander Korsantia, before receiving an Artist Diploma at the Royal College of Music in 2020 under the tutelage of professor Norma Fisher.

Laure Chan's website
Laure Chan violin
British Franco-Chinese violinist Laure Chan has performed throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas and has been invited as a recitalist and concerto soloist in prominent venues including London's Cadogan Hall, Paris Opéra Bastille and Florence Opera House.

Developing an interest in composition, Laure aims to combine her classical background with inspirations of multiple genres and cultures.  Her music has caught the attention of artists such as Nicola Benedetti and Isabelle Van Keulen as well as organisations including Universal Music Group, Audio Network and Out-Standard.

In 2021, Laure released her debut album “Tribute to Bach” featuring iconic works by Bach as well as her original compositions inspired by the composer.  Her second album was recorded at Abbey Road studios in January 2023 featuring Schumann's Violin Concerto with the Sinfonia Perdita conducted by Daniel Hogan. It will be released later this year.

Laure has appeared as an artist on LBC News Radio, Norwegian radio, BBC Radio 3 - In Tune, Classical Turquoise Radio and BBC Radio Scotland (2022).  Her awards include the Music Director’s Award of the Oxford Philharmonic (2010), and solo prizes at the Royal Academy of Music and Royal College of Music.

An advocate of musical education, Laure became an Ambassador for “The Benedetti Foundation” in 2020, providing workshops for string players worldwide. Laure has been a member of the Chineke! Orchestra since 2020.

Laure would like to thank the Hattori Foundation, Donald Paterson Fund, EMI Music Sound Foundation, Dorothy Croft Trust, John Lewis Partnership, The Countess of Munster Musical Trust, Gandar Dower Fund, Help Musicians UK, The Royal Society of Musicians of Great Britain and Talent Unlimited for their generous support.
