7pm Concert (approx. 70 mins, no interval) Tickets: £22 Adults, £10 Concessions (Under 18 and Full-time students) |
Trans-Atlantic Ensemble returns in a more intimate setting exploring string trio works from Hungarian, Czech, and British composers.
Beginning by celebrating the 100th birthday of György Kurtág and his gem-like miniatures, we then pay tribute to Imogen Holst, with her rarely heard String Trio. Philip Dutton’s resonant Ring Out! conjures vivid colours from the three instruments, before an exhilarating masterwork from Sándor Veress (teacher of Ligeti and Kurtág).
Three excellent musicians from the Trans-Atlantic Ensemble will bring these gripping, intriguing, and richly imagined works to life as the closing concert of our first season.
