On the eve of Valentine’s Day, Reiko Fujisawa (‘A total joy’, The Times, ‘Beautifully poised’, The Guardian) invites you to explores love’s complexity through contrasting voices.
Haydn’s Andante con Variazioni opens with introspection, its variations tracing tender shifts of feeling. Beethoven’s Appassionata is a storm of passion and defiance while Chopin’s Impromptus reveal intimacy, longing and fleeting joy. Takemitsu’s Rain Tree Sketch II nestles between, offering a moment of meditative stillness. ProgrammeHaydn
