Elisabeth Turmo |
Elisabeth Turmo is a Norwegian violinist who recently graduated from the Royal College of Music in London, where she gained her Master of Performance degree (MPerf). She is known for her stage presence, singing tone quality as well as the fiery temperament of a Northern Norwegian.
She received a 2nd prize at the Grand Virtuoso International Competition in Salzburg and a 1st prize at the Norwegian National Youth Competition. Elisabeth has performed as a soloist with numerous ensembles, such as the Arctic Philharmonic, the Oslo Chamber Orchestra, the Barratt Due Symphony Orchestra and the Toppen International Festival Orchestra. |
“Elisabeth Turmo is a young violinist who combines technical rock-solid perfection and enormous energy. Her own variant of the play between folk music, the Arctic primordial force and the classical, results in a rare volcanic-musical force.” |
