Nirmal Parmar is a contemporary self-taught pianist based in Manchester. His repertoire spans UK pop and chart music, alongside a deep passion for Bollywood melodies and film music.
Growing up in an Indian household, Nirmal was immersed in the soundtracks of Bollywood films from an early age. Inspired by the richness and emotion of these melodies, he began teaching himself to play by ear, recreating the songs he loved listening to and developing his own unique musical style.
Fourteen years later, despite having no formal musical training or education, Nirmal has performed at a range of prestigious venues; from The Landmark London in Marylebone, Syon Park in West London, through to The Barbican Centre, and the Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai amongst others.
In the past six months alone, he has presented four solo recitals in Manchester and is now looking forward to sharing his music with wider audiences in London and beyond.
Nirmal's musical journey has been anything but conventional. He developed his artistry as a pianist, alongside his academic path in studying Aerospace Engineering at Queen Mary University of London. This discipline reflects a commitment to creativity, perseverance, and lifelong learning that continues to shape his work as a performer today.
