Paris-based pianist Ida Pelliccioli explores exquisite transcriptions for the piano of music by J S Bach by Liszt, Brahms, Busoni and Wilhelm Kempff.
“Transcription occupies an important place in piano literature; from the proper perspective, every great piano work is a reduction, it is the essence, in all its greatness, which is thus reduced and the piano is the means of this operation... Bach, Beethoven, Liszt, Brahms, all thought there was value in transcription.” ProgrammeBach-Busoni
"Ich ruf zu dir, Herr Jesu Christ", Chorale Prelude BWV 639 "Nun komm Der Heiden Heiland", Chorale Prelude BWV 659 Prelude, Fugue and Allegro in E-flat major, BWV 998 Bach-Liszt Prelude and Fugue in A minor, BWV 543 Prelude and Fugue in B minor, BWV 544 Bach-Kempff Siciliano from Flute and Harpsichord Sonata No 2, BWV 1031 Bach-Brahms Chaconne in D minor for the left hand, BWV 1004 |
