Welcome to the last of our four chamber concerts this season at the 1901 Arts Club, performed by musicians from London and beyond and hosted by bassoonist Miles Chapman.
The programme celebrates the expressive range and vibrant diversity of chamber music, featuring a captivating programme for wind and piano. We start out with the Trio of London composer Geoffrey Bush, before performing a world premiere of our own Stephen Dickinson’s Vocalise. We step back in time to the Baroque finesse of William Corbett Trio Sonatas and Corelli’s masterful Ciaccona, performed by the Alma Mea Trio. The journey continues with Tomasi’s pastoral Concert champêtre which bridges from our baroque adding in 20th-century harmonic colour and the concludes with Fazıl Say’s evocative Alevi Dedeler rakı masasında. An exhilarating blend of contemporary voice and cultural reflection. The piece describes an everyday scene in an Anatolian village - Alevi fathers drinking raki at a well-laid table. This concert promises an unforgettable exploration of style, tradition, and innovation.
Our Waterloo-based music salon comes with cosy seating and an amply stocked bar to quench your thirst during the interval and with the artists after the performance.
So come along, grab a glass of wine, kick back your heels and melt into some beautiful music.
