The Evening

For the original drama play, immerse yourself in the behind-the-scenes-presidential-campaign.  Greg Delmonte, a young and talented frontrunner, is convinced of his success.  Abi, his communications manager on the verge of a nervous breakdown, continues to support him … for the time being.

But that's without counting on Tracy, who is determined to make her mark, and Michelle, a journalist who can be trusted. But can she for real?

Who will come up with the best plan to attain power? Who is manipulating whom?

.  ....  .  ....  .  ....  .

The evening continues with The Parentheticals with a long form improvisation show that will take you in hilarious moments straight out of the troupe’s members wild imagination.

ACT’IN THEATRE:

Act'in Theatre is a drama school located in the heart of London. It offers drama, improvisation and cinema courses in French and English.  A space of freedom where, whatever your age, career, theatrical and cinematographic experience, you can work on mastering physical expression, emotions and ease on stage in a relaxed environment.

OUR STORY:

Act'in Theatre was created by Candice Desmet on 1 September 2015 in one of the studios at Old Paradise Yard in the heart of London.  The project was born when she realised that many people didn't dare to try acting for fear of not being up to it or because they thought it wasn't for them.  However, everyone agreed that drama classes could help them in their daily life, whether professional or private (improving public speaking, stress management, etc.).  The idea of making theatrical practice accessible to all then became central for Candice, who took up the challenge of abolishing these common beliefs by offering workshops open to all.

The adventure began with a French-speaking class on a Friday evening.  Then, the activity developed over time, and today, Act'in Theatre offers 19 hours of weekly theatre and improvisation classes in French or English, to 76 students from the age of 4, as well as film classes (soon to be reopened) and private coaching sessions for those who wish to have more personalised training.

IN'TERVAL SHOWS:

100% English show with French surtitles
Every 5-6 weeks
Where? Near Waterloo Station

Program:
  • Act 1 : Drama in English performed by the Gin&Scenic troupe
  • Act 2 : Improvisation in English performed by The Parentheticals

In'Terval is a special format in two acts.
The first act is a drama show, performed on stage in English by the Gin&Scenic troupe.  The troupe chooses theatrical sketches which they perform in a set adapted to their expectations or perform an original script written and directed by Candice Desmet, Director of Act'in Theatre.  The second act is a 'long form' improvisation format with the troupe Les Parentheticals!  A hilarious troupe that will take you along in their games and surprises!

The Gin&Scenic troupe is the latest addition to the Act'in Theatre family.  Formed in September 2022, it is composed of French and English speaking students who perform on stage in English for your pleasure!
